Hello all. I am only posting this because so many people asked me to let them know when the true F4 mandolin kits came into stock and wanted to know details about it.
#The kit is slightly flamed on the back and sides, the neck is already joined onto the body, there is a head plate already glued onto the head stock, there is a inlayed center strip down the backside of the neck, the ovalhole purfling is inlayed already, all woods are solid, neck scale is the shorter F4 scale joined at the 12th fret and sides are glued onto the top.
I have included pictures so you can get a better idea. The price is $340.00.

Ken, have you got a link to this kit? I'm not seeing it on your website.

I couldn't get picture up on here due to the size. I could email many pictures directly to you and they will be on the website within 12 hours. All of the kits and whites just came in stock.

Some one just brought to my attention that I have the wrong price listed for this kit and I am sorry about that. The price is $290.00.

    $290.00 - that's outrageous! I was okay with $340.00.
Does this really come with the rosette? If so, I'm impressed. The last and only time I did a rosette on an oval hole was not pretty.

The Rosette is inlayed already. The picture of the kit is not shown and the picture I posted was not so hot. You can contact me for better pictures if you wish to see better detail. I really do not want to post a bunch of pictures and mis-use MandoCafe.

Is there final carving to be done on top or bottom? It seems since it's already inlayed and sides are glued on, you can't change too much on the top. Is this the case?

I just ordered a F5 scale oval hole. Freindly people you Americans! Sorry about the whole "War of 1812, burning down the White House" thing...(those pesky ancestors...)Kerry K

    That was pretty funny Kerry

The tops still needs to be fine tuned and thinned some. You can do that from the inside on the top. Just scrapers would do and then do your bass bars. You could also shape the top some if you want to adjust the arching or do flouting. The thickness if the top on average is 7.5mm or 9/32"..

This is the absolute most Zin-esque marketing I have ever witnessed. So much so I would have already ordered a kit if I had any idea whatsoever as to where to order it from. I have been trying to be patient, mistakenly thinking that someone would point me to a website, or even possilbly mention the name of the place where one might place an order, but finally have given up. I have seen one clue. I guess it is a company in America, so that narrows it down a little bit, and one other outright request for more info. I have no idea what will occur next, if anything.

Zin-esque. You know the chant, Paul, Oh pour me another glass full, ohm.

Well practiced you may achieve a state of Zin like Cha-blis.

    Sorry. #Couldn't resist.

Ken, that kit looks like fun and the price is sweet too. #Should I ever finish the A5 kit I bought (shamefully whispers) 2 years ago I may have to give that F4 a go. #Thanks for birning this to the market!

I do have many mandolin kits up on www.internationalviolin.com and the True F4 kit will be posted on there later today. Please contact me for pictures that are better. The photos I had were too large and I couldn't put them up. You can contact me at kwise@internationalviolin.com Brian, I didn't put this info. up right away because I didn't want it to be such an advertisement but more about updating members on its availability. I thank you for asking and I thank the member that posted our site.

    Ken,
You should put a link to your site in your signature. You could also write up a little article about new products and have Scott post it in the Cafe news section.

Jamie-- do you think if we put our unfinished A5 kits together in a room and leave 'em alone, they'll finish each other??

I wish. Chances are, they would just keep the dust off twice as much floor.
Not to give the impression that these are incredibly hard to do... I've just let other things get in the way.

I have two kits started for over a year now and I just find it hard to find time to spend on it because I repair everyone else's instruments and leave mine unfinished. I admire my kits all of the time and imagine them done LOL..

I just ordered a True White from Ken Wise, great man to work with. He has some great deals for some ones that have some "issues"; plus had a good price for the InteliClip tuners.
Anyone looking to try some "DIY" this company seems really cool.

I'll let you all know how goes it!

Major complaint, ordered it and it was on my secretaties desk and there I was starring at the box "Oh hell, I didn't even tell the wife yet!"

Told her about that disease that afflicts us good folks it's Called MAS.

I think the order was called in Monday and the mandolin was in my hands Wednesday night. It was a blemish (hardly) so I spent less than 225 for a Intellitouch tunner and a nearly completed f4 mandolin. I am as tickled as I could be. Thank you Ken Wise!
