    Their calling this a mandolin, but it appears to only have 4 strings....can they truly call it a mandolin?

    Nice conversion job, though, even filled in the holes for the other 4 string pegs.
    licks still sounds high-guitarish though, may be tuned like one.

    NO. Everybody knows REAL electric mandolins have FIVE strings and SIX tuning pegs!

    It looked like he was playing mandolin shapes and he's a violin/violist, so my guess is that that thing, which appears to be a flat-back, was tuned like a mandolin. I went to their web site and heard some more stuff by them. Decent but not awe-inspiring. To me, that video has some nice moments but they are few are far between, and I love electric blues.
