In a string thread I read about Ted's La Bella flats. I cannot find La Bellas at my normal stops, so.....who is this 'Ted' and how do I find him?!
Thanks and have a great weekend!

The eminent Ted Eschliman (a.k.a. mandohack), co-moderator here at the cafe! #He has a fine, reasonably priced set of flatwounds he spec'ed out for LaBella. #A lot of us use those strings. Great guy, too. #Writes for Mel Bay Publications, runs#http://www.jazzmando.com. #NFI.
You can get strings from Ted here. He's a great guy, and has some "natural advantages":

Those JM-11's are my string of choice on my Eastman oval hole mando. Smooth feeling and great sounding. His picks are sweet too (you may still get one in a pack of strings). After the Dawg pick these are my #2 pick!

Oh man, I can't wait for evolution or genetic engineering to give us all those extra fingers....
That's a riot..... No wonder he plays so well.
I use the LaBellas that Ted sells on my Mid MIssouri. I put them on last April and changed the E and A strings after 8 months or so. I am going to swap them shortly. They sound great and play very well. I used to use Darco Lights, cvhanging them every 3 months. I still recommend Darcos for flat top mandolin, but I like the Labellas better.
