I was wondering if anyone has the sheet music with chords and melody to O'Carolines Draught. I can pick it out by ear but my 12 year old students need more help.
Thanks,
Chip![]()

The Complete Works of Turlough O'Carolan has melodies in several formats, including sheet music, but no chords.
"Celtic Music for Mandolin" by Allan Alexander & Jessica Walsh has the tune on CD with chords, tablature and standard notation. I got my copy from Elderly Instruments.

Thanks so much Scott. You the man! I had only heard Dedanaan's version in Eb and a lot more notes.

I should have mentioned that's a custom arrangement I did for... me, I guess. F isn't the typical key but it works good for this. It's also more of a chord solo almost but just leave out the low notes to turn it back into single-note melody.
Artie McGlynn has a nice guitar version of this on his first traditional Irish music solo CD, "McGlynn's Fancy" from 1994. It is also in F, and is quite similar to Scott's with a few different wrinkles here and there.

Scott's arrangement of this piece took me one whole winter to nail down completely, but it's become kind of a signature piece- even played it at coffee house once.![]()
Thanks again to a great board mod.
Hmm, that sounds familiar. I was absolutely playing that piece back then and very well may have been influenced by it. His playing is superb.Originally Posted by (Spencer @ May 12 2004, 08:03)
