    Hello esteemed luthiers!
I recently got a very nice old Stradolin with a few issues but definately worth putting back into proper playing condition.
It has a nice brown subtle burst, spruce top, lightly flamed solid one piece maple back,,, all in all a very nice find.
The issue I need to deal with right now is that one of the tuner pegs had rotted and crumbled off.
I took a closely matched button off an old unservicable set by immersing it in boiling water.
(I guess that some of you know that if you leave them in too long that they turn into white bubble gum?)
So, anyway, I now have 6 extras.
The shaft that the crumbled one came off is lightly splined but does not have "ears" on it.
I forced the "new" one onto the shaft but it just spins.
    Will glue work?
I bought some epoxy today but figured I should check before I go ahead with it.
    Would CA be better?

Stewmac recommends medium acting (30 minute) epoxy for their replacement buttons. That's what I've been using and it works great.

Thanks Gail,,, I think I will stick with the epoxy then.
    Much appreciated.
