Default Handel: Gavotte HWV 491 & Passepied HWV 560

    Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759):
    1. Gavotte in G Major (HWV 491) - 0:00
    2. Passepied in A Major (HWV 560) - 1:10

These are my settings for mandolin and mandocello of two brief baroque keyboard dances by Handel, both of them popular beginner's pieces for piano. There's a wide range of tempo choices in recorded versions -- mine are at the livelier end of the range, as these were usually (though not always) fast types of dances.

The main reason why I have paired them is that they happen to be on the same page in the definitive Urtext edition, the 1988 Hallische Händel-Ausgabe by Bärenreiter, where they are Nos. 61 and 62 in Vol IV/19. It's on IMSLP, and I also attach the PDF (NB: copyright on urtext editions is 25 years, so it's now in the public domain):

    https://imslp.org/wiki/Passepied_in_...orge_Frideric)

I'm playing exactly the notes from the urtext editions, nothing added and nothing omitted.

I'll try these the next time I play duets with my mandola/mandolin friend. Always happy to see excellent and playable parts for the mandocello.
    Thanks as always Jonas.
