Does anyone out there know of any lefty F-style kits?

I haven't really come across any yet.

    Thanx

Any of the popular F style kits (Stew Mac,Siminoff,International Violin,LMI,etc) acn produce a lefty. You pretty much just mirror image all the plans.

Are we talking about a rare maple front, spruce back mandolin here, or have I missed something?

Of course not,you silly boy. I'm talking about a concave back and top mando with the tone bars on the outside. They play them a lot in Elbonia.

Of course! How they install the linings on the inside of the scroll beats me!

Just take an F and string it backwards. Hey, Hendrix strung his Strat backwards. Who cares if the cutout is on the wrong side. It worked for Jimi. Then you can play it with your teeth and light it on fire when your done.

    From Roger Siminoff's site:

A: We can carve a left-handed soundboard and backboard and provide you with a left-handed fretboard and matching fretboard extender. We can also cut the peghead shape "flopped." However, the plans in the book are all right-handed, so you'll have to interpolate as you put the kit together. (There is a slight additional charge for left-handed kits. Please write for more information.)
