Has anyone ever played a spann mandolin ? Specifically a Spann Mandolin once owned by Alan Bibey and maybe now owned by Vince Bullins. Any info would help.
Thanks

Yea, I've played one, and if it's the one Vince had at Galax this year, that's the one I played. It was great, and I'd say you'd better get it before somebody else (like me) hears about it and gets it. Just get it if you can.
Oh no , are you going to outbid me now ?Have you compared it to anything else ?
Thanks for the input !!
Made by Carl Spann in the North Carolina Piedmont region, he's made dozens of them. A5s and F5s. Rough work on most of them but do sound fine and get the job done. I don't know if he's still making them or not as I've not seen Carl in several years but he's been turning them out for about 30 years.
I can buy the one alan bibey had for $3995. Is that a good price ?
