It may seem odd but there are two European World of Bluegrass events - one stays put in The Netherlands and the other one travels around. We just organised it in the French Alps for the first time and had a great time. 21 bands from 7 different countries played and we estimate that somewhere between 5,000 and 6,000 attended over the three days, most of whom did not know anything about Bluegrass - in spite of pretty lousy weather on the whole. My local town, who hosted the event, is totally converted to Bluegrass, the musicians and the spirit of the music.
The Mayor gave a speech at the end and announced that we will host it again next year, so that's good news.
