My new eastman 614 buzzes for the first seven frets. there is also a definate hump in the neck at the 12th fret where the neck joins the body. the bridge seems to be at its highest adjustment now, so what do i do next?

Sounds like you may have some factory defect problems, A new mandolin shouldn't be buzzing or have a hump in the neck. If it still under warranty I would take it back and ask them to take care of the problem or replace your mandolin. If it is not under warranty then you should take it to a good luthier and see if there may be something that he/she can do about it. Did it have this problem when you first bought it?
