    Hello all,

I'm looking for a luthier in the Albany, NY area who can do some set up work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Nathan

It's a ways but head up to Malone and see Dave Nichols at Custom Pearl Inlay.

Martin Macica is a builder in Schuylerville a bit north of Albany. Check out his web site here. I don't know if he does repairs/set ups.

Steve Kovacick is a fine guitar builder and an authorized Martin repair person in Scotia, NY. He does good work.

    Thumbs up

Mr. Lehmann Rochester NY has a web site just do a search with his last name and you should get to his site url.

Known him for a number of years, excellent builder mostly into building jazz guitars now but still does setup and repair work on just about any stringed instrument.

He has setup or repaired 4 of my mandolins. I highly recommend him also a nice guy to work and do business with, worth the drive.

I know Bernie Lehmann has been doing this for quite some time, but I would think that Rochester is pretty far to drive from Albany -- you could easily go to New York City, I would think.

    Nathan,

The guy in Scotia has to be the closest and his web page has at least one mandolin link so I would guess he would be framilar with what you want done. #NFI of course but I had to look him up cause I went to high school there!

Look up Grey eagle mandos on the builder's page. Ol' fattie would do the setup and you could probably test drive a couple of killer mandos.
I wonder what normal people are thinking about?
