    Unhappy

I admit I'm not the least bit technical; I never was. #So now I don't know what else to try. #I wanted to see the cowbell skit that Mad Dawg provided the link to on page 65 of the "post a picture of yourself" thread, so I clicked on it. #It started to download and got 20% done when it stopped. #A message popped up which read "The network connection has failed". #I don't know if my computer is too slow to keep up (it is a dial-up connection) or what. #Does anyone know if there's another way to access this? #I've never seen it, and there is so-o-o-o much hilarity over cowbells that I want in on the joke! (unless it's not clean; in which case maybe someone could just tell me to forget it. # #In that case, I'll just be content not knowing. #
    Thanks!

    Hi!
I'm not sure why you can't access it. It could be due to the dial up.
I just clicked over and did it... so it's not that it's no longer available.

It is funny. I remember seeing it before on SNL.
I guess that I like just about anything with Christopher Walken and/or with Will Ferrell.

I tried to get it on webfeedcentral.com but they said that they had had to pull it due to allegations of copyright infringement.

It is still playing on http://www.pistolwimp.com/media/12491/
This link may be easier for your system to playback. I have it running right now and it's coming in loud and clear.

I'm hoping for some of those "gold-plated diapers" someday.......

The pistolwimp link was good for me, HarmonyRexy. That skit cracks me up every time. Classic.

Yo mama: if you have no luck with the link, and don't have access to a faster connection at work or at a friend's house, see if you can find Saturday Night Live: The Best of Christopher Walken on DVD or VHS at your local video store. The cowbell skit in on that title, as well as several other great skits from Walken's guest host stints on SNL. (Note: Netflix also carries this on DVD.)

LP Percussion (Latin Percussion) just introduced a "More Cowbell" Shirt. Your local percussion store can probably get you one.

Can't go wrong with renting them both -- you'll get Walken's and Ferrel's best skits, plus you'll get two times more cowbell!

Thanks for the tips; I'm trying the pistolwimps link right now. #For me, it's downloading so slowly that I can't understand a word being said. #My husband has a much faster connection at his workplace, so maybe I'll walk over tomorrow and see if it'll come through there better. (It'd have to; anything would be better than how it's coming through now!

Once it has downloaded, you should be able to replay it at normal speed.

You're right Ron, it did play normally after the initial download! #It took about an hour, and the actual skit only lasts a few minutes! #Oh well, it was funny, and now it's nice to finally understand the joke. #I think I'll get myself a cowbell and see how it goes over at church! (My pastor would die, right along with my hubby!)

BTW, if you are interested, here is a transcription of the skit...

I've always found it very interesting how this skit has become part of our culture. "More Cowbell" has become a house-hold term... now even in mama's house.

Maybe one of the top TV moments/skits of all-time...??
