    Phew!!! ... #This has been bugging me all day. #Good thing I've got a guitar in the office to noodle around on. #In the key of D, the verse is D, G, A. #The chorus is F, D, F, G, A, F, G, D.

This is the best website hands down. I've asked similar questions and had immediate replys.

This is what kills me when I'm trying to figure chords. I'm thinking I, IV, V and the related minor chords. In this case, in D, that would be D, G, A as major chords. Why the "F" chord in there? I'd never figure it out.

Reviving this thread...I just love this song and the way the Del McCoury Band does it. Thought I'd spell out the chords as they do it in the key of B. The count between each slash is 4 count.

    /B/B/
    /E/E/
    /B/B/F#/F#/

    /B/B/
    /E/E/
    /B/F#/B/B/

    Chorus:

    /D/D/
    /D/D/B/B/
    /D/D/
    /E/E/F#/F#/
    /D/E/B/B/

We sometimes do this song in jam sessions around our part of NY state. Has anyone figured out what the lyrics mean?
