I was in the music store the other day, and I saw
this nice looking f-style mandolin. On the headstock
it read SPENCER. Do any of you know anything about
these mandolins?

Oh well, maybe $225 is a good deal. LOL
Its proablly a generic name for an import,if it tunes up and holds tune is easy to play and you like the sound it will be a good deal you could still offer less.

Thanks for responding.
Don't know if it is the same Company or not, but I brought a Spencer Acc/Elc guitar for $250.00 and took it on stage with me (I was the keyboard player and lead vocals in a Clasic Rock band and only played Acc on a few songs)I brought the Spencer because I did not want me or my drunken counterparts to knock my Yari out of the stand (which happened to the spencer twice...Good warentee by the way)
Anyway that was 6 years ago and it has held up good and plays good...it's no Yari (or Loar) but like Markelberry says, if you like it get it
Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Thanks Grant,
The F-style Spencer actually looked pretty decent,
and the body was solid wood construction. I started
out on a Kentucky 150S, and I still play it quite
often. I think I'll make him an offer. LOL Appreciate
the help and advise!
