    Exclamation

Anybody know how many Gilchrists have been made and sold? Lots of Collings made, used sell for less than new. How many Gilchrists made, used sell for more than new?

    Hi John!

Steve Gilchrist has made about 600 instruments in total. #The breakout is as follows:

    82% Mandolins
    9% Guitars
    6% Mandolas
    1% Mandocellos
    1% Octave mandolins
    1% Miscellaneous

Used Style 5 (F) Gilchrist mandolins typically sell for a range between $20,000 to $25,000 (a few have sold higher than that range, a few lower). The initial price for a new one on Steve's closed list will be within the above range. #
