I know that Lynn Dudenbostel did a series on building a mandolin on the DIY network. I have tried unsuccessfully to find them available for purchase on DVD. Any help?

This is all I could find but it should get you started.
DIY mandolin
Have you looked at the web site for Handmade Music? The episodes are listed and the pages have quite a bit of the meat of each episode. Not as good as actually seeing them, I know, but what's cut out is mostly music and chit chat. I have that show on my DVR as an "always record" and lately (last few weeks) it hasn't been on. I don't know if it will be coming back around or not.
BTW, I recommend browsing nearly all of the pages from that show. I watched some that were on instruments that I really wasn't all that interested in and would almost always get a tip or two that was general.

This question has been asked before and LD himself posted to say they are not available for purchase and there are no plans to make them available.
I think the advice given above is good. I watched all three episodes, but it was all what I call "ooh-ahh" stuff. It was not really do-it-yourself. Every time they would get to a part where you thought you were going to learn one of Dude's "secrets" they would say something like "Then, Lynn graduates the top using skills he has developed over years of mandolin building," then they would cut to something else. You didn't even get to see him doing more than one or two finger-plane strokes. It was an interesting show, but mostly it was eye candy and a huge commercial for LD, who probably didn't actually need the publicity.
If you were going to but a mandolin building video, your money would be better spent elsewhere.
Not the same thing, but if you don't have them, here's a link to the pictures of the building process.
Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll just wait and catch it on DIY. I will look up the "Mandolin for you" reference.
I did notice that some of the other episodes (non mando) do show a future date to be shown so hopefully they will run the series again. As has been said, it is not a tutorial on building by any stretch, but there are lots of tidbits. I suggest watching the violin ones also. There was a lot of relevant information in them.
There is a video at Stew Mac that is detailed on building mandolins that have heard good things about, but it is pricey.

More generally, those relatively small cable channels have a tight budget so once they get something developed they tend to re-run it to death. #Unless there was a contractual limit on how many times it can be shown, it is a safe bet that it will come around again if you are patient.
<Insert witty saying here>
The excellent series of pictures has nothing to do with the DIY video episodes which are entertaining but a lot less detailed.
Here are some other web sites--including pix of Lynn making a pair of mandos:
The Coydog site--great write up of the building steps!!!--good because it takes the viewpoint of a beginner building a first mandolin:

The show is on DIY (not mando tonight though). I am not sure why my DVR "gave up" on them. Anyway, it does still seem to be showing regularly and there aren't all that many episodes, so it should come back around before long.

Coydog did a very nice job on his building blog and the sound clip of the finished product is fine, too

I was lucky enough to get a DVD of the DIY channel shows (thanks Darren!). They are very good. The amount of commercials is amazing though it is literally five minutes of show then five minutes of advertisements - Make sure you record the shows so you can forward the adverts! Well worth seeing though.
