20th Wedding Anniversary trip to Europe and the wife and I got to have dinner with fellow moderator Dan B. We HAD to talk mandolins. (Tax write-off for trip expenses, of course!)

    If I must...
The wife wasn’t thrilled but she granted me three minutes on Dan's lovely latest acquisition (the only playing I was allowed for a week).

Love the Stoplight outside of Dan’s lovely Thames River view apartment. (If this thing doesn’t give you a headache!)

Very disappointed to find they wouldn't let me join in with the mandolin on the changing of the guard. (Something about "God Save the Queen" & G-chop not really compatible.)

Great pics Ted. Was the Rigel resonator a special order, how does it sound?

Cliche to say, but completely true--the resonator was a cannon. I guess she did allow me another three minutes on it while Dan changed from his 3-piece suit. (He looks good cleaned up!)

This three minute thing must be very, very relative...

Looks like a nice trip and congratulations Ted and Mrs. Mandohack.

You should switch from a ball cap to a Rigel-logo bear-skin helmet! #Then maybe next time the band would let you join in.

Don't they have a Rigel English model? (You play it on the wrong side.)

man, I guess I've been too involved in secret machinations of our government.....I saw the "Cafe Moderators Summit" and thought I'd see you and Dan leaning over the current mapping of all the Cafe members, dividing up who were "yours" and "his".

Now I see it's just a vacation/anniversary, congratulations to you and the Mrs. and much relief on my part!
    very nice pics too!

Tony, I think it would be more along the lines of... "No, Dan, you have to take this one. Ted has XXXXXXXXX and I have ZZZZZZZZ."

Happy anniversary to you and your wife, Ted. Hitting the 20-year mark seems to be getting rarer and rarer these days.

    Ted,

Dan doesn't look very excited to see you!

Dan, do you want to share what you were thinking when that photo was taken??

    Paula

p.s. that traffic light might put me off driving forever. Which would probably be a good thing.
