    Thumbs up

I'd like to invite anyone in the Lincoln area, or just passing through, to check out the James Arthur Vineyard and enjoy some great music this Sat. April 29. My band, The Platte River Pickers will be playing along with South Paw Bluegrass Band, The Toasted Ponies, and Shanti Groove.
It should be a great time, and who knows some parking lot pickin' sessions may just have to evolve. For more info check out (www.winevinesandbluegrass.com) They have directions and all pertinent info there. Hope to see some fellow pickers there. Come if you can and say hello. I'm the tall, gangly one who plays mando and sings.

You fooled me, I thought you were talking about the festival in North Platte this weekend. Cool looking website and info.

    Hello
I'm the OTHER mandolin player in the Platte River Pickers and just wanted to say hello and encourage any Nebraska locals to come and hear some bluegrass. We play some traditional bluegrass with a few modern bluegrass tunes in there and a few non-bluegrass as well.
The Toasted Ponies are an excellent bluegrass band featuring Steve Hanson, former Walnut Valley banjo and guitar contest winner, who also plays a mighty fine mandolin . Walnut Valley Wins
I've heard good things about the South Paw Bluegrass Band (Omaha Area band), and Shanti Groove (Colorado based band), though I haven't heard much of them.
Believe it or not, you can actually grow grape vines in Nebraska and there are some pretty good wines coming out of the vineyard where this is all taking place.
It should be a good time, and I hope someone seeing these posts can make it! Let us know--we play at noon and will be hanging out the rest of the day!

Well, I've just gotten word that because of predicted 100% chance of rain on saturday:
The festival has been officially moved to KNICKERBOCKERS (901 O St. Lincoln, NE)
