I am searching for this out-of-print book and cassette.

Does anyone know where there is a copy?

Check ebay. That's where I found mine. And then I had the cassette dubbed to CD. Ain't technoilogy grand!?!?

Hi John, yes I have two copies of it, got the second when a mando friend passed on. Carol found the second one and has been working out some stuff, so no copies available!

Someone should contact the publisher about reprinting it!!

Gentle reminder everybody that soliciting copies of copywrited material is against board policy. Not saying what you do with your stuff on your own, communicating privately (hint, hint), but this is a very public venue and crazy as it is retrieving out-of-print materials, we still have to play by the rules.

Its Charles Anderson--I talked with him 8 years ago.
He told me some stories about Tiny composing the solos
and having to sight read them for the tape.

How is Tiny's method different than other mandolin lesson books?
like jethro's
well other than the fact that he was writing the example bits.

Tiny's book has transcribed solos to basic tunes:
Beaumont Rag, blues in a couple different keys etc and ends
up with more Jazz-oriented mat'l. He played a lot of solos
on each tune beginning with melodic variation and
progressively shows more advanced ways to improvise.
There is no real explanation, but lots to work with.
