Anyone pick up on the cool background music on the IBM commercials running on the Master's telecast?"

I knew I recognized the tune but it took me 2-3 viewings to pin it down...

Open-back banjo playing Bach's Cello Suite - Suite No. 1, BWV 1007, In G: Prelude.

Had to pat myself on the back for picking out that one.

I don't know if it is the same banjoist or not, but check out these audio clips of John Bullard.

I picked this Bela Felck CD up Perpetual Motion when it came out in 2001. What a great CD of classical music on banjo. Great supporting cast of musicialns as well (Edger Meyer, Joshua Bell, and Chris Thile).

I'll have to look more into John Bullard. Thanks Bill!

Was watching The Cat in The Hat with my kids the other day when low and behold there is a scene where Skaggs version of Raw Hide is plainly heard. Thought that was kind of cool.

I was down there Thursday, but didn't hear any music! Guess it's just for the broadcast! But then again, I didn't eat lunch at Hooters, just down the street from the golf course!

Links, were you feasting on Piemento Cheese? I was there on Friday. Gorgeous day at an amazing place. Only music I heard was coming from the birds and the birdies.

Yep, Jeff - had a "minner cheese! Actually, one pimento, one ham and cheese, diet coke, and two pink lemonades - total $6.75. Try that at a major (or minor) league baseball game!!!!!!!!

I would have been there, but nobody gave me any tickets this year . What a drag, 20 miles away and watching on TV

Darryl, Free tickets are much harder to come by these days. Got mine Thursday night for Friday's round. I hadn't been in about 6 years. On another subject, my brother and sister in law live in Aiken at Hounds Lake. Last time we were there, They took us to Duke's BBQ. I thought I died and went to heaven. Man was that good. You in that part of town?

I live a few miles behind Dukes and our office used to be next door in that vacant building. #Usually I get Masters tickets from some business client, friend or such. #It just didn't happen this year. #My office is next to Houndslake area now.

    Darryl:

I turned down two tickets for Sunday #- #rather watch it on TV. #I wish I had know you were a golf fan (or at least a "Masters" fan) and you could have had them. #I've been going since 1962 (only missing a few in college and while in the Marines). #I worked there with my old boss, George Cobb (designer of the Par 3 course) from '73 - '78 and illustrated Cliff Roberts book, but the place never gets old. #Spring can't start until after the Masters! #Now, if they could only start the broadcast with a little mandolin music!

    Ron:

Never though of that, but that would be a "complete" weekend. Just wonder how Darryl would like a dozen golf/mandolin bums camped out in his yard!

Darryl, I may have to hold you to that. I was looking at the calendar of future dates for the Masters and April 12, 2009 is Masters Sunday and my 40th B-day. I have told the wife for years that I want to be sitting on #12 on Masters Sunday on my B-day. Now if she'll do that and get me a Loar.

I was there the two previous years on Sunday. It is really a magical place. I think any golfer and non golfer would really enjoy and apreciate the whole experience, there is really nothing quite like it. And what people say about the food there is true, it is really cheap. What is truely amazing is that you can literally leave your seat at a hole(and your belongings) and nobody will touch them...they will be sitting there exactly how you left them when you return.

There is not another place like it anywhere.

Dfyngravity, That is what I have heard and what I was hoping for. As I want to go leave my chair in the front row of #12 just behind the tee box and then go look around.
