Many here are already familiar with the artistry of legend Paul Glasse, but for the uninitiated, I've set up a web page, including a sample MP3 to inform and tantalize.
    Paul Glasse

This is a little premature, but we will soon be announcing a Paul Glasse workshop in Lincoln, Nebraska (home of 132 million dollar Powerball winners...) on Tuesday, June 6th. We will announce the specific morning time soon, but Paul will also be guest soloist for an evening performance at Jazz in June, as well. Last year, 6500 people showed up to see the John Jorgenson Quintet, so even the concert in itself is a pretty big event.

Nobody does Bebop Mandolin like Paul Glasse!

Great page, Ted. You tipped me off to Paul Glasse in another thread a few months ago. I've loved his stuff. Thanks.

He is. Not only a phenomenal mandolin player, but all around musician, composer, bandleader... The guy's too good.

...I just wish there were more of Paul's music available on CD. Two CDs are DEFINITELY not enough!

I am glad to see and hear this. We all deserve the right to hear Paul Live and In Person. He is one of our generations heir to the jazz mandolin, and he composes some of my favorite accoustic tunes. He's my buddy, a teacher, and someone who can enjoy the concept of a good meal.
You guys in the Mandolin Cafe society needs to know more about Paul than the CD's of course. Here is to hoping this chance comes to your doors. You almost missed your chance last year, but someone else I guess felt otherwise. People of this level of artistry are meant to be shared with everyone and not just Austin.
Have fun in Lincoln and pass it forward please.
    Later all you mandoliners!!

Paul was a guest at the 2001 CMSA meeting in Bozeman where he gave a great concert performance, an excellent workshop and, best of all, joined a few of us in a great post-midnght jam session. He was generous with his time and talent and seemed genuinely pleased that so many mandolin players knew and admired his work. A really nice guy and a briliant player and composer.
