Well today my MAS took a hard blow. I had been looking at buying a Rover RM-75 from a local store but the only one they had sold. So I go in to see if they will have any in soon he said he would have to cheak so he calls SAGA music and they say that it will take at least 3 months (gaa!) and that I am going to have to pay 75 more dollers. I am pretty upset because the mando I have now has a broken rib so yeah. O well hopefully it will work out in time.

I have had mine on backorder for sometime but I think you can preorder today for 384.00 with the vintage hard shell case at Centsible Sounds. They are good people.

    I have the opposite problem...

I saw Hans Brentrup today at SuperGrass. He's got an F5 that is only 5 months old and it KILLS. At $10,000 it's way out of my league. IWANT IWANT IWANT IWANT

I agree that centsiblesounds are good people. I ordered a travelite case from them and I was impressed with their service.

In fact, I had planned to order a Rover #RM-75 from them last July which the Rover went for $299. But I ended up buying the $299 MK Legacy Deluxe on sale at Musicians Friend about the same time frame.

In hindsight, I wished I bought the Rover, the MK is POS.

They just seem to have a problem with their spelling. They have Kentucky spelled wrong two ways and of course their own name is also

My MAS took a terrible blow too. I was hoping to use a portion of my tax return for temporarily staying my MAS, but my return is 67% less than last year, so no-can-do.

gnelson 651 I totally agree on the MK's. I got my Rover RM75 for 334.00 with the hard shell case although on backorder. When I found out from Centsible Sounds were going to be backordered I order a MK from Musicians Friend and when it came in I didnt like it at all. MK's seem alittle thin and light weight for my taste. This is my opinion. Alot of other people like theirs.

Maybe the one in Cafe Classified #16492 is still available. At least the ad is still there.

Thanks for all of the replys! Do you know if those online stores set up the mando? I guess if they don't I could always take it into my local store. So the MKs are a POS eh? I have heard that they are not very consistant... the rover seems like the call!

I didn't say that MKs are POS, just that the one I got is. Yes, there seems to be inconstistancies in the MKs. There are some on this board that swear by MKs. I guess it is a matter of luck if you buy one from the internet, or if you can play them in a music store to pick out the best one.

I for one believe that for the extra money you get a much better mandolin in an Eastman.

As far as internet stores setting up their instruments, it is something you have to inquire about before buying. Mega stores like Musicians Friend and Music 123 don't do any set ups. In fact, the customer service rep at MF pretty much admitted that they ship out a box as it is received by the manufacturer.

I still say most every old flattop mandolin (Regals, Vegas, Washburns, Weymanns, etc.)I've ever played just BLEW those away in tone. Looks are great but TONE rulez! YMMV
Look up (to see whats comin down)
