    $3K+ Maybe real close to $4K That would be my guess and it would still be a great deal.

    for some reason citterns never get as high as the octaves or zouks. an octave goes around $4k in the us, possibly more.

    i think most of us have a hard enough time with four courses, let alone five.

    I sure can't get my brain around five courses... Sometimes on a five-string bass, but not on double-course instruments...

    But the Sobell is a sweetie and that was a nice price.

    I agree with ya', Steve. The Extra course would mean extra work and I am working enough learning the 4 course.

    I, still, was tempted! My OM plays and sounds so very, very nice it would have been a treat having another of Stephen's instruments to plunk around with.

    That was a great price. I payed a bit more for my OM, but that goes along with the "Popularity of OM vs. Cittern" theory that was mentioned.

    I imagine whoever bought this beauty is gonna have a whole ton of fun with it.

    5-course is much easier than you'd think.. especially when the neck is long, makes it easier I think!

    The Sobell cittern that was posted on the cafe last month went for $2800.
