    Hey all-
    Im trying to find some jazz scales/ instruction, and was wondering if there were any online that i didnt have to pay for- and if not- what book should i get? there are a plethora if you search google. thanks!

    You know what? I'm thinking you might not really want jazz scales, but jazz theory. #The scales alone don't really explain the contaxt and application. www.jazzmando.com is a good start for the context. #My favorite book on the subject is The Jazz Theory Book by Mark Levine. (Instrument agnostic.) There's a lot there, but it puts it all together with examples, examples, examples.
