Randy Hogan has very nice mandolin straps. He usually has some on the classified section here.

I like Pat Sullivan's straps. You can find them at his web site.

Try one of these. Custom orders accepted (color, length, everything), price remains the same.

    Good luck!

Well, what are your needs? A leather boot lace is traditional. Some of the little braided ones look pretty cool. Here's what I like in mine? It should be at least an inch wide to spread out the weight on my shoulder (a little tiny braided one can end up digging into the shoulder, causing it to tense up eventually). Two inches is better. It should be thin leather where it goes over the shoulder, but not too stretchy (holding a mandolin is not like pulling a plow--no need for harness leather--1/16" inch thick at the wide part is just fine). NO METAL (I don't want to scratch up my beautiful instruments). Suede-like roughness on the inside of the strap, so it doesn't slip. Small enough so I can leave it on when the mandolin is in the case (I don't want to mess around with taking it off and putting it on). I ended up making my own out of a piece of soft, thin, well-tanned leather I bought at a leather shop. It's two inches wide over the shoulder, then narrows down to fit over the scroll. For the tail, I folded the 2" leather in three after gluing it with rubber cement, hammered it flat, then sewed it with a sewing machine (the leather is too thin to hold well at the peg with just one layer. It's thin enough to fit into the case without problem. I used a hole punch, but it wasn't big enough, so I expanded the hole with scissors. Very nice strap.

Another vote for Loren Bailey's straps. I have them for all my mandos. If you want something thicker try the Long Hollows at Finecases.com

Other great ones include the roo straps from AlanN, the Jim Avery strap, the Long Hollow softie, and the Dudenbostal leather strap....range on these is $20-50.

I like the Collings mandolin strap. I know it is made by someone else who sells it directly (for cheaper) but I don't know his contact info.

You can get the Collings one off their site.

First Qualityhas some of the Avery straps in stock. #They're not in the catalog or on the web site so you'll have to give them a call. #I've got one and it's the best braided strap I've ever had. #Very comfortable and it doesn't stretch or roll.

I'm with PatrickH, I love the Collings strap. Used to use a braided strap but tried the Collings, found I really liked the suede lining that "grips" my shoulder so it doesn't slide around. Not expensive, simple and gets the job done. Got mine from Elderly. Side by side, The Long Hollow Softy strap is identical to the Collings.
