    If it doesn't have one, do you feel it's unecessary in that model? The neck felt much beefier to me than any acoustic mandolin. Is there some fixed, internal reinforcement?

    im not sure if there is or not. probably but if not, i don't see too much of a problem. luckly with an emando there isn't that great of a pull on the neck from the strings compared to an 8 strings acoustic...or i might be wrong, that's just what i have heard.
