    Hey Folks,

I was directed to gibson.com's service department to obtain "Archival Information" (Building Specs) for my Festival F Performer Series Flatiron. I was told by the folks at Weber (Sound To Earth) that Gibson may have held on to the archives of the Flatirons when they relocated from Montana to Nashville and it was possible that they (archives) may have not been destroyed.

When I had contacted Gibson and gave them the mandolin's Serial number I was emailed the Flatiron specs but was told to "recheck the serial #". Apparently, there is suppose to be 8 (eight) digits on the lable (in the F hole)when the Flatirons were made.

    Mine only has 7 (seven).

Can any of you Flatiron owners check your F hole lables and let me know if your serial # has 7 or 8 digits? I have sent them a photo, via email of the lable in the F hole for them to comfirm of this possible "error". Maybe the lower end F's in this series may have only had 7 and the higher end models had 8. I'm not sure 'til the folks at Gibson Co. let me know.#

Please, let me know what you folks are holding.

    Thanks!

    I have eight # #96####24

Heres what Paula Jean Lewis emailed me "The serial number would be read as finished in 1996 (96) the month of January (01) and the 1424th completed in the Peformer Series "F" models to that date"

By the way, you don't have to give me the Serial Numbers. Just how many digits yours have. I'll let you folks know what Weber (Sound To Earth) and Gibson has to say.

    Thanks again!
