    RRoyd:

Thanx for the answer (about Sam's F5 in the Sam/Darryl pic)!

Great, inspiring pictures. Do you have anything from Indian Springs?

Yes, those would be in pictures that I took. I have not scanned them yet. We played there in 79 I believe

    Hey Bob,

I must have seen you play with Roger Sprung at Berryville in the early '70s sometime. Great festivals. I remember that Roger was the only guy there wearing a starched white shirt for all three days of the festival. Pretty wild music--for those times, anyway. Roger had a most unusual approach.

Did you overlap with Jody Stecher's tenure in that ensemble?
Both Jody and Daryl Anger played on Roger's Cds. I just did the festival tours. I beleive he was the first to record Doc Watson. We used to visit with Doc in Deep Gap every summer.

We also stayed wirh Obrey Ramsey, got thrown out of the Van Hoy residence for playing Devil's Dream, visted the Wests and their mandolin collection, sold lots of albums and even won Galax one year. I started when I was 14 and it was a trip!

I still use the guitar strap Roger made for me. His hobby was tooling leather and he made some beautiful straps.

    Those were the days!

    Cya!
    Bob

OK, Thanks everyone for all the nice emails about this subject.

Here are some more from the same batch of Dads stuff. #These didn't survive my "first cut", but with all the interest I'll post some more.

Glenn Lehman and the Dunbar Mountain Boy, circa 1966ish at a bar in Cleveland. #Glenn recently passed on, the banjo player is Bob Deonivik (sp), George Lehman on the "national" and I foget the bass player name

    If I double-up any here I apologize

Now I believe it is Reidsville where Carlton Haney moved Berryville to. It was just too cold at that time of the year in Berryville.

I don't remember this "codger"s name, but he was everywhere with his instruments. #He was one of the first to put effort into making and selling his own "stuff"
