I just read a good article about nickel creek in the #58 September issue of "No Depression"
It was a long article in which they covered a lot of topics (One of which was Chris had been married for 18 month and now divorced...but that is neither here or there)

They were talking about recording their new CD "Why should the fire die" and said it was recorded on tape using old spring reverbs and other echo units and such and that "Chris was using a felt pick" he said it added to the reverb effect...any thoughts?

I've used a felt pick in the past. Sold as a ukulele pick. I used it to keep the volume down when the kids were trying to nap.

I've tried a couple of uke felt picks. Neither of them was thin enough to fit between the strings comfortably for solowing, but i guess you could strum with them.

The article states that the felt pick was used only on the song: "The First & Last Waltz", not the whole album.

Not really what I expected a felt pick to sound like.
