My mando is a couple months old. #i found that early on, after a couple of days it would go a little flat and i would re-tune. #i am now finding that even after a day or two everything has gotten sharp. #is this a humidity issue? #or is it a new mandolin issue? #Thanks in advance.

On the humid days, my Gilly consistently goes sharp, due to the swelling wood.

While playing outside at festivals my mandos tuning changes as the temperature changes.

I once had a wise mandolin teacher tell me that "mandolins are much like their owners, tightly wound." #While this is mostly for humor, I can tell you that I have played in church before...and from the time I took the mando out and tuned it to the time we played (about 45 minutes), the mandolin was out of tune enough that when I began my solo on a gospel medley, it sounded like a sick cat. #I thought I had fingered the wrong string, so I started over and got the same result and suffered through the song. #What had happened...the A/C in the church had dropped the temp about 10 deg F and the mandolin was about a 1/4 step off. #They can be very sensitive to environmental changes. #Fortunately, by the second service everything was settled...those poor folks in first service were only half awake
