    Thumbs up

Hey gang – I just want to give a plug for Jeff Cowherd at Mandolins in KY. #Finding a quality mandolin in South Texas is difficult. #Believe it or not, Austin (the music capital of Texas) is void of #anything #decent with eight strings. #Jeff put some mandos in a box and sent them to a total stranger (me) in order to help me make a more informed decision. #

That kind of service is rare these days. Thus I couldn’t help buying the little “blonde” he sent. #The Lebeda is a fine piece with great tone quality. #Thanks Jeff for the great service, I would buy from you any day.

    Howdy Jay,

Thanks for the info. I'm glad to hear that you made out pretty good.

I know what you mean about finding quality mandos.

That seems to be my challange as well.

    Welcome aboard!!!!

Howdy from Abilene, Jay. I know how you feel about local mando selection. I hear the good folks at Collings in Austin make an excellent mandolin. I've not had the pleasure of playing one, but many folks hear own them and speak very highly of them. You might check them out next time you're in Austin.

Howdy Shane - thanks for the tip. Next time I'm in Austin, I'll have to look them up. It appears that "taterbug" pickers are rare in this state - between you , me and Keith. I don't know about ya'll, but there isn't a mando player within 100 miles from Victoria, or at least that I'm aware of.
