I went to the Smithsonian Air/Space museum over the weekend and went into the Wright Brothers display. I was intersted to discover that Orville Wright was a dedicated mandolin player. They even had his mandolin in a glass case: a round-back Washburn. How cool is that?

I don't know if it's relevant, but Discovery astronaut Steve Robinson is also a pedal steel player.

Needless to say, he is quite the hero within the steel guitar community.
