Had a friend e-mail me an ad for a Refurbished Washburn M12FASB F-Style Mandolin. Said it had flamed maple top(?!), back and sides. Anybody ever hear of this model?

I have one. It is OK, I suppose, for an entry level thing. I allowed some money on it for a trade in, meant to put it on eBay, but haven't.
