Last month, I was up in NJ for a couple of days. I stayed with my parents in Ringwood so going to Mandolin Bros. was too far for too short of a trip.
My Dad and I were down in Paramus. We stopped in this music store just to see what they had in stock ( no it was not Sam Ash )
Well it took 20 minutes to get someone to assist. I asked to take a look at the one mandolin hanging on the wall. That took another 5 minutes to find the ladder to get the darn thing.
I tried it out and.... well.... ....it wasn't that good.
I thanked him for his time and he got ticked off and indignant. He told me that there was something wrong with me and that was his best selling mandolin. He continued to tell me that "I" was making a big mistake by passing it up. Really?
I guess I would be angry too if I looked like him. He looked like he just arrived home after touring hard with Nine Inch Nails or Audio Slave.
I thought that Sam Ash had some pretty obnoxious salepersons, well this guy topped the list.
I guess I should have walked out the door when I saw a Paramus Cop in full uniform playing Crazy Train with the amp cranked up to 10.
Oh well you live and your learn.
