Vintage Mandolin Info

Good morning everyone.

I'm looking for info on an old mando a friend has. His father got it in 1937 in exchange for work cleaning out an elderly gentleman's home. The mando is an A style with a very deep back.

There is a label inside the body that reads:

C W Lennox, Maker
28 Woodbine Street
Hartford, CONN
1891 (the '1' appears to have be handwritten)

All of the seams are intact, two of the tuning peg handles are missing and there is a piece of inlay missing from the head. It looks to be in pretty decent condition for a 114 yr old instrument.

Any info on this mando would be greatly appreciated. I can find one site that lists C W Lennox as an "American Fretted Musical Instrument Makers" ca. 1895.

From the instructions in the miscellaneous section:

Click on Add Reply at top of page, next to New Topic. When that page opens, type in your post message and at the bottom of the page there is an option to attach a file. Click on browse and locate your jpeg image on your hard drive, highlight it and click on Open. Thats it.

I will add that you have to make sure your image size is pretty small. I think the largest edge can be no more than 640 or 680. Just keep reducing the pixels numbers until you get the board to take the photo.
