    Unhappy

I was wondering why do we not have a live chat room? I'm sure that this has been suggested before.

    Thanks,

Not that yours isn't a valid suggestion, but personally I don't like live chat rooms. Go back and see how many posts have been edited by the writer. Could you imagine the flame throwing we could get into??

It would definately have to have a moderator on full time call for it.

This message board is enough. People need to spend more time picking.

One of the posters from the Cafe (Loren Bailey maybe?) started one, but I do not know if it is still up and running.
Edit: At Loren Bailey's web site for selling mandolin straps there is a link to a chat room that I believe is set up for mandolin chat. I don't know how active it is because you have to register to be a member and I am not interested in live chat.

I've fiddled about with them a couple of times.. in the long run I've found that once more than 2 or 3 folks show up it gets pretty chaotic on a general interest forum (so many sub-topics here). The board does support IM notification for various instant messengers.. quite a few of us are using microsoft, yahoo, ICQ or other types of instant messengers.. that's my suggestion for you!

That is so true, but when the fingers get too sore (like mine are right now) it's nice to have a chatroom. Seems like that mando cafe people are very aggressive, since they always need a moderator to keep them in place! #######'s Bluegrass Forum has a chatroom, it's just plain fun.

    Bill,

I did activate the chat function at my website. I don't know what is involved in becoming a bellsouth member to chat but anyone who wants to use it can go right ahead.
