    Thought this might be of interest. Rare to see anything about Clarence these days. One of my favorite flatpickers of all time and a major influence on people like Tony Rice and many other greats.

    Thanks! Clarence was one of my main influences in learning to play the guitar. I'm glad I was around in his heyday - while a lot of guys were trying to emulate the big rock stars of the day I was trying to figure out his solo to Dark Hollow. What a great musician.

    The forum looks cool, too. Gotta check that out.

    I took guitar lessons from Clarence back in 1961. At the time he was supporting hinself by teaching at a local "folk music" school. Little did I (or anybody else) know what he was destined to become in a few years.

    He taught me how to play Wildwood flower.
