Default Gibson K1 mandocello at Guitar Center

One doesn't often see a vintage K1 at Guitar Center. And there just weren't that many mandocellos made after Gibson introduced the truss rod.

So this is something of a rare bird. If I could see the headstock I might venture to guess that it's actually a little earlier than the 1930s, perhaps even from the "Loar period."

But with a repaired top crack, is it really worth $2,799? I guess we'll find out.

Might that be the one that was in the classifieds earlier this year?
