    Default Removing Tailpiece from Kentucky Mandolin

    New mandolin player, and it"s time to change strings....but I'm not sure how to remove the tailpiece....thanks

    The cover will slide back, away from the neck. They can be tight...

    Be sure to remove the tailpiece COVER, and not the tailpiece!!!!!!!!

    Put a coin (like a quarter) on the very front edge of the cover and pull back with your fingers. The cover slides off towards the back of the tailpiece.

    It will look like the tailpiece in this picture on Frank Ford's site www.frets.com
