    Default Surprise find: Mother-In- Law's Gilchrist #78!

I was looking through some old belongings we inherited from my wife's mother, and came across this. It's an antique ice shaver (a plane for shaving ice from blocks in the good old days). When I saw the brand name I knew I had to post it. Unfortunately, it's the closest I'll ever come to owning a Gilchrist.
Gilchrist #78 is now prominently displayed in my "music room" alongside my instruments.

Sorry for the misleading thread title, but I couldn't resist.

You're a lucky man Steve. The ice shaver I inherited was a Rover 25.
