    No, it is a Shutt copy by Harmony.

    Original Shutt 2-points are asymmetrical. Harmony copies are symmetrical.

    The instrument in the Siminoff article looks symmetrical to me. Is it not a Shutt?

    The instrument in Siminoff's article is unlabeled. Patents for Shutt's asymmetrical mandolin and Harmony's symmetrical one were filed on the same day, and nobody knows for sure exactly what the relationship was. Gregg Miner's article goes into much more detail.
