Default Wanna build some mandolins out of really old spruce?

68 tops that were cut a hundred years ago and have just been sitting around ever since? How could you say no?

Looks like they're for bowlbacks; not sure if you can make carved A-styles out of those.

Bowlback, flat or canted top, looks like it might be quite a deal for a bowlback builder. Seller says he has lots of other parts from a old mandolin shop s well - gonna be interesting.

The tops remind me of a Weyman Mandolute.

No, but I'll settle for very old uke tops and mandolin bass bars...

It's nice to see them going to a good home.

Thanks...we'll see how they look when they get here.
Got some additional pics which looked good, so it should be a good score...

The seller says he doesn't know the name of the shop, maybe Bruce will find (has found?) some clues. This seller has a couple more auctions going now on parts from the old shop, one is a top with scratch guard that has an L. D. or L & D design in it. Probably doesn't mean much what's on a scratch guard.
