So out of pure curiosity and playfulness I am learning Bill Monroe's Southern Flavor - on my Fender MandoStrat four string, through some heavy metal distortion.
That iconic chord progression, G, B, Em, I think it is, done with double stops... wow. Talk about "ancient tones". I think I am waking up the giant Fingal in his cave in the Inner Hebrides. Or channeling him.
Not quite ready for prime time but I am having fun.
