Too many cracks for me to buy, but I thought it was at least interesting.
I like the carved head on the headstock, although she looks a little drunk.
I would assume German?

Unlike the seller, I don't see that being worth $2K once it is fixed up. Interesting, though.
Emando.com: More than you wanted to know about electric mandolins.

Brings to mind Vassar Clements' old fiddle with the carved head...
Ray Dearstone #009 D1A (1999)
Skip Kelley #063 Offset Two Point (2017)
Arches #9 A Style (2005)
Bourgeois M5A (2022)
Hohner and Seydel Harmonicas (various keys)
"Heck, Jimmy Martin don't even believe in Santy Claus!"
I think it's pretty neat - If he would take $100 it might be worth it for the novelty value....
The head carving looks more French to me. The body style I am unfamiliar with.

it's beautiful, i'd make an offer if i was near. the drunken mando!
Looks like a bandola oriental, from Venezuela. I don't know anything European that looks like this.

He thinks it would be worth $2000 restored. Dream on . . .
Cool looking or not, don't even know if it's playable. Perhaps if it was
strung up to tension and was playable someone might make an offer. How can the seller be so
sure of the time period if it has no markings and he says he doesn't even know when or where it's made , yet he knows it's a 2000 mandolin. If I had a mandolin that could be easily repaired and make It go from 300 to 2000, I would do that and make a propfit.
Its not a backwards guitar.
