Can anyone give me an idea as to the cost of shipping to France. Any special things happen on the other end I should know about?
Thanks

Shipping will be peanuts compared to the customs fees and taxes somebody will have to shell out ...

So for a $1000 instrument, those fees might be???
There are people here who do this all the time and know the details much better than I.
My guess is about $250 - without shipping

If the instrument contains ANY wood of the Dalbergia genus, you can't ship them internationally due to the recently introduced CITES regulations on endangered species. This includes the Rosewoods, Cocobolo, African Blackwood, Tulipwood, Kingwood, and others. Such instruments could be subject to confiscation. There are exceptions for instruments made with pre-regulation wood, vintage instruments etc, but there are complex documentation requirements and fees involved.

Thanks guys. I tried again and found some pretty good info I think. The $250 is in the ball park. And this instrument has a bubinga fret board. Prolly ain't gonna happen....

The lowest priced shipping method is US Postal. In this case it is worth it to pay a little extra and do Express mail. Runs a bit over $100 and is not calculated by dimensions, only weight. Other options are typically a LOT more.
