Thread: Any opera experts around?

    Default Any opera experts around?

Recently, I began the second volume of "L'Art de la Mandoline" by Silvio Ranieri.
One of the first pieces in the book is an Allegro Pastorale from William Tell by Rossini. I especially like the fifths drone of the second mandolin, that I simply strummed on my ukulele. Sounds a bit like hunter's music...
I tried to find the piece in Google and Youtube but had no succes.
It's not part of the ouverture, maybe an interlude or something like that, I'm really no expert on operatic music.
But maybe someone of you can give me a hint, I'd really like to hear how it is supposed to sound.

It's in act 1, quite early. It originally starts with a long horn call. ""Il sol che intorno..."

Thanks a lot. That helped me find the part. It's a short instrumental interlude starting at 29:50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R36GxBVeJ5I
