I'm hoping to move my work schedule around so I can go - I went to Don's building camp last year and when the glue was setting.... sneaked a few peeks into Niles' class - I'm only a very occasional player but having met Niles last year I'm sure he is the guy to go to if, like me, you are kinda stuck on a plateau and can't move on - so I'm getting the mandos out the cupboard, stringing them up and preparing for bleeding fingertips.
Plug for Don's class - he is a brilliant guy - he helped me build a reasonable mando in 3 days - OK, it sounds and plays a bit better than it looks - but it was a great 3 days, I'd recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in putting these beasts together and needs some serious destressing at the same time

I just sent in my deposit for this camp.
I'm just excited to get ANY type of instruction,
since I've never had a lesson. I heard Niles is
great from a guy who plays in a local band.
Steph, can you bring the mando you made on one
of the camp days. I'd be interested to see what
    it turned out like.
    see you there,

    Hey Guys,
I'm signed up to be in Nile's workshop next month. Really looking forward to it! Niles' already sent out a CD and some sheets to start practicing for the boot camp. Nice touch.

I went to Don's building workshop last November. I can't begin to tell you the fun I had. I'm sure it will be equally as fun. Also: Lance at the 4-H Center is a GREAT host. Watch him knock back the Tabasco!

DB23- I'll be packing the number #1 so's ya can check it out. You will really....and I mean really... enjoy the experience!

Steph - Hope ya can make it.

    Till then,
    Jack

I'll bring the mando along - Don will probably kill me because I never did "finish it" - the nut is still way too high - but I still play it anyway - maybe I'll take half an hour one evening when I'm there to finish the job. If Lance is reading this - did you ever get the matresses sorted!! - and yes folks he really does have hot sauce with everything!!

I'm starting to sweat about not knowing enough stuff to keep up with the class. I've been playing for a couple years, but never had a lesson. I haven't got anything in the mail yet. I guess that will help to see what I'm in store for.

Can't wait to see those homemade mandos! ..and maybe Tabasco makes you pick faster?
