Last year, I got a G-Tuned Waldzither from Dave Hynds. It's a nice instrument, mahogany as far as I can tell, 39 cm scale. Unfortunately, the maker's brand on the sound board came off in the sanding process, but from Dave's pictures before the refinish, I can make out "Wolf & Comp".

A little websearch seems to place that company as "Wolf & Comp. Musikinstrumenten-Fabrik" in Klingenthal, Sachsen (Saxony) in Germany / Markhausen Böhmen (Bohemia), and it seems to be mainly associated with accordions. I have found reference to a 1920 parlour guitar by the same maker on reverb, but that's it for stringed instruments. I'd guess the WZ is from the late 20s as well.

Can anyone shed any more light on the maker or the age of the instrument?
