Default Cool looking John Ramsey F style at Tejon street

the first Ramsey I've personally seen for sale, all the owners I know that have one really speak highly of these.

I'm working on a guitar deal or I would get this, thought somebody here might like to check it out.
John and his son(Sean), own and operate Tejonstreet. I've purchased 3 Collings(guitar/mandolins), 2 Northfields, and now 2 taylor guitars. Always a pleasure to deal with and the instrument received has always been excellent.
John is building high end Ukuleles these days.

I stopped in last week and took a look at it but didn't play it though. I really wanted to see the tangerine burst colored Collins...and its a beaut!

Bought the Collings A with Italian spruce with birdseye maple today. They were very good to deal with.
Had to drive for over 2 1/2 hours each way, but I like the Ramseys at Tejon Street Music after meeting them today.

Looks very much like my old Ramsey. One of the best mandolins I ever owned and a big mistake when I got rid of it. Do you have a serial number for it?
    A couple of mandolins
    A couple guitars
    An Upright Bass
    Some banjos
    Wax Paper over a comb
    A Loar era Didjeridoo

Great people. John has had a stellar reputation for close to 40 years. Love dealing with them!

Just wanted to add my impressions:

Met John and his son Sean not long after I moved to Colorado about three years ago. Extremely gracious folks and extremely good to work with. John has an excellent reputation that is far reaching...especially in the banjo world. In fact, he recently had one of David Grisman's banjos in his shop. So for anyone who is considering doing business with Tejon Street Music, you're in for a real treat.

Wish Tejon Street Music had been there when I was at Ft. Carson 1966-67.

Of course, there was the Denver Folklore Center...

I met Harry Tuft of the Denver Folklore Center roughly about the same time as when I met John Ramsey. They both are terrific people to know. It was tough to see Harry retire and sell DFC this past year. But he's now immersed in his first love of entertaining. As well as taking a much needed rest; he's taking a break in Hawaii as we speak. But before I digress any further, both John and Harry are, as we say in the South, good people. They just don't make them like that any more.

Harry stayed at our old apartment back in the '70's when he played a gig in Rochester; my first public performance was one Friday open mic night at the Denver Folklore Center. I was a PFc at the time, and I'd just bought an Oscar Schmidt Appalachian Autoharp from the store.

Last October, the Denver City Council declared "Harry Tuft Day" in the city. I won't post the whole 43-minute YouTube vid, but interested folks can see it here. Some pretty distinguished speakers, including former Gov. Dick Lamm.

I will, however, post a seven-minute interview with Harry, in which he plays Mississippi John Hurt's Guild guitar, and talks about the Folklore Center. The vid's seven years old now; Harry was 74 at the time (mandolin content includes a black-top Gibson mando-bass at 34 sec.):

I still own the Ode Muse banjo I bought with Sp5 pay there in 1967; the Autoharp and the Gibson J-50 have since departed. Excuse the hijack, but mention of Colorado brings back memories, and those of Harry Tuft are some of the best.
