    Default Whitewater

Probably posted somewhere on the forum already though I didn't find it. Worth a second link.

I bought the CD ''Drive'' when it first came out. ''Whitewater'' & ''Up & Around The Bend'' were 2 tunes i taught myself to play on banjo. They're now 2 mando. practice tunes. 'Whitewater' is a bit frantic, but U & ATB is a great tune to play, It has an 'Irish lilt' to it.
BTW - Many thanks for posting a 'visual' of the guys playing Ww !!,

    You bet.

Bela's records have been a real source for tunes. Somewhere, I have the tab to U & ATB; also, Dawg's Due, off Natural Bridge (a great album). And recently, have been picking Crossing The Tracks, off his first LP on Rounder, ca. 1980. That solo eluded me for years and years, until I hooked with Jordan Ramsey and he 'set me straight'!

Down in the Swamp is fun one from Drive. The tab was here on cafe. I love Up and Around the Bend!! Is that Mark OConnor and Stuart Duncan trading the fiddle parts on that?

Here's the rest of what they played at that Strawberry Music Fest 1999. Amazing show!! How 'bout Bryan Sutton??

The whole CD is terrific - one of Bela's finest IMHO. The CD has a bonus track on it compared to the LP which was my original purchase (i'd forgotten about that). I just looked for it & can't find it so i think that i might have given it away. I think that the bonus track is ''The Lights of Home'',another great tune.

Ky - I'm pretty sure that Mark O'Connor does the honours on 'Down In The Swamp',but Stuart Duncan may be ''down there'' as well - that's why i just looked for the LP - terrific ''whoever'',

I was actually asking about the fiddles on Up and Around the Bend. It's definitely 2 fiddles trading the phrases. I can tell one of them is Mark.
